58 – More fun in the snow!

W58 – More fun in the snow!

This time we were both wearing gloves (cf: 49 – Il a neigé) and we had a ton of fun in our backyard. Ulysse is so good at throwing snow balls that we are considering having him be part of a Dodgeball team 🙂 Since we can’t resist the call of the trail I drove for the first time on a pretty thick snowy icy road in order to meet “Mamie J” for a hike. I am really happy with the way our car handled the snow too. We met my mother in law at the Preserve  (38 – Illahee Preserve) and we enjoyed a walked with her dogs in the beautifully snow covered forest.

56 – Port Townsend rocks!

W56 – Port Townsend rocks!

That was our last weekend with great grandma before she takes her plane back to France. So we decided to show her Port Townsend which his an 1 hour north away from home. Beautiful touristic little town known for her Victorian’s architecture. When the sky is blue you can enjoy from the beach The Olympic range on one side, The Cascades with the Mount Baker on the other side. We were walking along the marina and in Downtown when Ulysse found a couple of rocks hidden and painted by local artists 🙂 #PortTownsendRocks

55 – Seattle Womxns March

W55 – Seattle Womxns March

As you might have seen in my previous posts (45 – Chute libre et 48 – Seattle women’s march against hate) I am/We are not really happy about the results of the american elections. As a good french citizen (with less than 5 protests in my background..) i took my family to the Seattle Womxns March on January 21st. So Mr H, Ulysse and my 80 years old grandma and myself marched with others who came from near and far to communicate our discontentment with the new government. It was magical, over 175 000 people, families with kids, grandparents, disabled people.. walked together peacefully. As for a lot of Americans that day was the first time that my french grandma was part of a march ❤

54- Collage

W54- Collage

Bel emplacement Mr Farfadet.

At the start of the week I had lunch with one of my friend and while walking toward her place i found this collage along the Cours Cambronne. This is the type of things that i appreciate and makes me smile . After some research i found out that Mr Farfadet au Pays du Street Art is the author of this piece called “It is behind the bars that the children wearing funnels are hiding themselves”. Good spot Mr Farfadet.

53 – Nantes

W53 – Nantes

We are back in my hometown, Nantes for a couple of days. Just enough time for us to say hi, give kisses & hugs to friends, family and go walk around our old neighborhood; La butte Saint Anne. As we were leaving we decided to stop the car and take this lovely shot: The Jules Verne’s museum, the Statue of Saint Anne blessing the Loire and her sailors and the Grey titan crane landmark appearing through the morning mist.

52 – Where are we?

W52 – Where are we?

I love to learn, travel, meet new people, understand, be challenged. Wanting to have less things, be/do more, cut down our daily life expenses to what is necessary to meet our travel experiences has been a big part of our life. I don’t want it all. Just being aware of what makes me/makes us happy as a family. Traveling is one of those things . The first person to comment on this post and tell me in which park in Europe was this picture taken will receive a little handmade gift from us. Bonne Année 2017!

51- Flying!

W51 – Flying!

Excited to visit family for Christmas. It was the first time we were traveling right before Christmas and logistically pretty sure it was the last time.. It was also Mr H first time in the plane with his son. Ulysse did good, me not really.. I became really annoyed at the plane attendants because they did not get their story straight and did not told us right away what was happening when we got stuck on the tarmac for an hour..  waiting for the passengers from an other plane that was late. We missed our next connection.. The good news is that we finally made it in time for Christmas, the bad news is that Ulysse got the flu and we ended up all being sick in bed for the next 3 days! I am pretty sure that was our worst traveling experience but we did learn a lot and spent quality time en famille,  Joyeux Noël !!

In one word how will you describe your Christmas this year?
